"How much does a website cost?" is the question we hear most — and the one most agencies avoid answering. Here's an honest breakdown of what you get at each level in India, and what actually moves the price.
The four price bands
₹15,000 – ₹30,000: a launch site
A small, mobile-first site — usually five pages — built from a well-designed template and customised for your brand. It should still load fast, have a working enquiry form, WhatsApp and call buttons, analytics and basic SEO. Good for: new businesses, clinics, consultants and local shops who need to look credible quickly.
₹50,000 – ₹1,50,000: a custom business website
Custom design, up to 15–20 pages, a CMS your team can edit, a blog, multiple forms and proper on-page SEO. This is where most established small and mid-sized businesses should be.
₹1,50,000 – ₹6,00,000: a platform
Integrations with your CRM or ERP, member areas, calculators, multi-language content, advanced SEO or a large catalogue. Price depends on how much is custom.
₹85,000 – ₹12,00,000: eCommerce
From a Shopify store with 50 products to a custom store with inventory, shipping, GST invoicing and WhatsApp cart recovery.
What moves the price
- The number of unique page designs (not the number of pages).
- Custom functionality versus off-the-shelf features.
- Integrations with systems you already use.
- Who writes the content and takes the photos.
- How fast you need it.
How to avoid paying twice
Make sure you own the domain, hosting, code and analytics from day one. Ask for a fixed price in writing. And ask what happens after launch — a site with no care plan slowly breaks.
